A once-in-a-lifetime visit to Buckingham Palace for Mel Thurston and her husband Steven,
alongside so many people who have made a contribution to their communities,
in the presence of the King and Queen, hosting their annual Summer Garden Party —
a tradition dating back to the 1860s, during the reign of Queen Victoria.
It was a true privilege and honour to represent the village of Snape,
and to rub shoulders with so many inspirational people from across Britain —
a day full of smiles, proud moments and memories we will treasure forever.
