Stop the Cumulative Impacts of Multiple Energy Projects!
We know that many people are feeling overwhelmed by not just Sizewell C but the other energy projects — either being implemented or planned — in this area. We are currently living with huge impacts and roadworks from Sizewell C and Scottish Power's landfalls to the planned substation at Friston (now called Kiln Lane), while simultaneously dealing with Sea Link's planning examination and consultations on the LionLink interconnector. We have no faith that there is any kind of sensible thinking in Government about how to locate energy projects, and why so many are proposed in such a small area, when offshore options are available. This issue has been raised in Parliament by Suffolk Coastal MP Jenny Riddell-Carpenter.
Let's get a debate or response from Parliament — SIGN THE PETITION!
In order to ramp up concern and force Parliament to address this, we've created a petition on the Parliament website. It took several months to get the petition approved and listed, but we now have until 3rd August to get as many signatures as possible.
At 10,000 signatures the Government will respond to the petition.
At 100,000 signatures the petition will be considered for a debate in Parliament.
